Bali 2011

On a trip to Bali in 2011 I completed little watercolors whilst traveling their beautiful landscape.

Staying in Candidasa at the beautiful Ida's Homestay there was plenty of inspiration from the little beach just outside the main compound.
The view from Candidasa township, drew plenty of attention from others waiting for their bus. Sitting under a large tree in the morning creating this little piece.

Walking around the village there is always something to find to stop and capture as is this the many little huts created for their cattle to stay out of the sun during the day.

Perhaps not painted onto the correct paper, that is what happens when I need to capture a moment, a little light that catches my eye. Packing light when traveling anything will do.

My driver, Sonny took me to Putong. Surrounded by rice paddies he described as the most prettiest in all of Bali, I wouldn't disagree with him. Early morning I took a spot by the side of the road whilst Sonny waited patiently to paint this beautiful scene.

Rough sketches is all it takes to get a feel for the area I am painting.
